Awareness
It is our responsibility and duty as African Americans to educate ourselves on the historical degradation of our people. If at this moment we could only fathom the physical & emotional hurt that our people suffored through, then I believe we would feel differently. Every time a slave was beat, hung, whipped or any pain was inflected, the word "nigger" was being shouted at them. In believing that by owning the word, we gain power over it as African Americans, is an IGNORANT thought. Lets respect our cultural warriors, our mothers and fathers who struggled and fought for justice and equality, it is our natural obligation as African Americans. Become aware of what everything around you represent.
- Pride
- Power
- Progress
Lastly, being a fool is one of the basic ingredients to the maintenance of the slavery system. Being uneducated equates to foolishness. Knowledge is Pride, Power and Progress.
*Willie Lynch: Lynch was a British slave owner in the West Indies. He was invited to the colony of Virginia in 1712 to teach his methods to slave owners there. The term "lynching" is derived from his last name.
